E.claire's room is coming along nicely. We had a few things to change up to fit in with the new color scheme (Navy and Coral.) And if I can give furniture a new life, I will. This is the bookcase I had in mind when I decided to paint something. I know it looks good white, but with one other white piece of furniture (the dress up station) I thought I could mix it up a little so everything's not so matchy-matchy. Please disregard the "After" posted in this photo, since I was silly not to save an original without those words on it.
This is the BEFORE shot.
And a reminder of how it looked when I brought it home (a $20 craigslist find.)
Here's what it's looking like now. I gave it two coats of blue (Olympic's No-VOC in semi-gloss) in the color Cavalry. And the back is painted in Olympic's Flat Interior One paint in Safflower. The whole thing got three coats of Miniwax Polycrylic Polyurethane water-based high gloss finish. Did you see that the fox lamp magically turned white? I gave him several coats of white spray paint. I think he needs a new shade though. I'll have to think of something fun. The little brightly colored coral bowl was a summer Target find. I thought it would make a cute accessory bowl.
Stay tuned for more updates in my daughter's room. It's coming along nicely and we are hoping to finish up by next week.
