Joe was long overdue for a new office chair and since he spends one long night a week playing video games with his friends from afar, he needed something comfy. But since our living room houses the computer/office area, it also needed to fit into the decor of the room. No big rolly, adjustable office chair for us. Although I have to admit I like those white sleek leather rolling office chairs. But for now, we got this:
It's upholstered in off-white linen with beautiful tufting. And that's not even the cool part about this chair.
Check out the back! This was the selling point for me. Oh and the half off price tag. It's a $300 chair, marked down to $200 at Home Goods and then marked down yet again on clearance for $99. Score. I call it the "Forever Young" chair since all the famous people on the back died young (except for one older gentleman whom I've been unable to identify.)
My favorite celebrity, besides, the obvious Audrey Hepburn and James Dean is the third guy from from top left. Can you guess who it is? Ok, I'll give you a hint. He died after hanging out at Johnny Depp's old night club in LA called the Viper Room. Have you figured it out yet? No? Ok, one more hint. He was in a little film called Stand By Me. Alright I'll tell ya. It's River Phoenix, my childhood hero/crush.
I wasn't quite sure what Joe would think of the chair, but he finds it to be quite comfortable and how could he say no to John Lennon or Bob Marley? It was so worth the $99 we spent from our craigslist profits.
Have a great weekend!
