Here is our living room as of late. We didn't mind the color, but honestly it was starting to feel dungenous to me. Now that winter is coming to a close, it's time for a brighter, fresher paint color.
Here is a shot of the room as you enter from the left. We sold that Ikea Expedit bookcase. We decided that it would be better to mount our TV on that wall and build something underneath it. We also sold the corner TV unit above and the La-Z-boy recliner below. So once we had an emptyish living room, we began priming the walls.
As far as some of the furniture went, we had to work around it. We used Zinsser Bullsye Primer and sealer.
We decided that the color was so dark, but one coat of primer seemed to do the trick in covering it.
We let the whole room dry for a day and then began the cutting in. Here is my little naked helper. Isn't he cute? The cutting in took another day. We decided not to use painter's tape, but instead an angled brush and a careful hand. Eliminating that step saved us some time. I'll mention the color we chose again. It's called Dolphin Fin by Behr.
We'll have wall shots of the paint job tomorrow for ya! Stay tuned.

(That is the common thought among ladies. The many shades in brown, from dark to
mild, will help you pick a unique one. There are a couple sides to this topic,
so let's take a look at this for a minute.
