More rot

Our house is finally finished being painted! Can't wait to post some after pics for you!  In the meantime, there were a few roads bumps in the way. One being the back side of our house where we took down the old gutters. They were rusting and falling apart. When our painter was painting the trim he noticed lots of rot where the gutters used to be. So my handy dandy husband fixed it.  First he had to determine the extent of the rot. Luckily it wasn't too bad.

He pulled down the old trim and scraped away the rotting parts. After that he hosed down and scrubbed the remaining wood.  Then he applied some of the house paint to the trim and added a nice new piece of trim.

Ta da! All better. Now the painting could continue so it got a nice coat of high gloss white paint from Sherwin Williams.

Glad that was a semi-easy fix and didn't require the professionals to come in.  We need to reinstall the gutters here at some point. Hopefully soon!
