Guest Room progress

The guest room came together just in time for my in-laws arrival a few days ago. The mattress and box spring came just in the nick of time.  The whole room, inspired by a french buffet, turned dresser, came together quite nicely.  It's not totally done, but ready for guests.  It's a little rustic, a little french, and a lot romantic.

Our first "real" art! A sculpture study of the nude male.

Champagne Blush sateen fabric made great curtains for this room. I gave them a little french pleat and used gold clip rings to attach them. Rods are from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

On the nightstand is a journal for giving guests the run down of where things are and a place for them to leave us a message. The little "Be Our Guest" sign was found on Pinterest, framed in a gold frame with a light pink scrap book paper background.

Joe and I worked together to build this simple Rustic headboard. I picked the boards, had them cut to size, the kid's helped beat them up and I stained them in a light gray wood stain.

I'm pretty sure every french inspired interior needs a pretty chandelier. We even found and painted a medallion to match the ceiling paint.

I found the LED twinkle lights at a local store here in Durham called Morgan Imports. They have a great selection of lights.

This cute Lavender bush will go in our yard soon. Apparently it can grow really well in the South.

Guest room towels, wash cloths, and hand towels are a must! In the apothecary jar next to them are plenty of extra hotel size toiletries.

I'm pretty sure I may sleep in this room at some point.  It just looks too relaxing! Now I should probably go and attend to my guests! ;)
