White Painted Side Table

Another little furniture update for you.  Here are some vintage side tables (there are two) from my Grandmother's house that used to be dark wood.  They can always go back to being dark, but for now they are painted white.  I gave them a nice sanding first and cleaned them up. They got 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of white semi-gloss paint.

They have the original hardware and are starting to get naturally distressed.  Not sure if I'll touch up the paint chips or let it go and overtime it will be "shabby chic."  I may start over and give these babies a fun color.  They are small, so giving them a bright color would work in our bedroom.  Also, what do you think of the hardware? It's hard finding hardware with the exact same dimensions, and old hardware is find of fun don't you think?

What do you think? Leave them white or go with something bold? Change the hardware, leave the original? Thanks for any advice. I feel stuck on these ones. And of course stay tuned for any updates to them.
