Tissue pom pom

A little fun and easy decoration anyone can do for any occasion. This one happened to be for my birthday. This is inspired by Martha Stewart's tissue pom poms, but you can do it for practically free.

First, you stack about 10 pieces of tissue paper together. You can use less if you'd like. You can use regular sheets of tissue paper, but you will get massive pom poms, so for these I cut them down to about 8 inches wide. My tissue is from Target.

Once you've stacked your tissue, you want to make an accordion, by making folds in opposite directions.

Next, you get a thin floral wire and wrap it around and twist it closed.

At this point it's a good idea to tie a ribbon in the floral wire, but I forgot this step so added it at the end. Then snip off any extra floral wire.

Hold your pom pom in the middle and then snip off the end in a round fashion and then begin to fan out your tissue.

It should look like this when you're done.

I strung mine by one piece of ribbon and tacked it up with push pins. My original plan was to actually have tinier poms and more of them, but I started getting tired. So here are my four strung across the window in my kitchen.

Don't they look festive?

These were so easy to make and make a great decoration for a party.
